Zugo Wealth Management Operations
Building the digital operating layer behind modern financial advice
Overview
Modern wealth management involves far more than creating a financial plan. Advice firms need to manage clients, advisers, risk assessments, investments, documents, approvals, compliance and day-to-day operations through connected workflows.
We designed and built a wealth management operations platform that brings these activities together into one connected environment. The platform gives firms a central business layer for managing advisers and users, configuring workflows, working with client information, managing investments and documentation, and tracking activity across the advice journey.
The product connects the client experience, adviser workspace and business management layer through a shared data model.
The Challenge
Financial advice workflows often span multiple systems and teams. Client information can move between onboarding, fact finding, risk assessment, planning, advice and implementation, creating opportunities for duplicated work and fragmented information.
The platform needed to make this journey more connected while giving different users the right tools and permissions for their responsibilities.
- Connect the full advice journey into one workflow - Give advisers a clear workspace for active clients and plans - Manage risk profiles, questions, scoring and suitability rules - Bring investment and product information into the operating environment - Manage advice documents, templates, approvals and audit history - Give businesses control over advisers, users, configuration and activity - Maintain security, permissions and regulatory fit
A Complete Advice Journey
The platform structures the advice process across seven connected stages:
Client Onboarding → Fact Find → Risk Assessment → Financial Plan → Advice → Implementation → Review
Each stage works from the same client record, reducing the need to repeatedly enter or re-key information.
One Client Record
The client hub brings important information into a single view, including personal information, financial details, plans, risk information, investments, documents and activity.
This creates a shared foundation for the wider platform and allows different parts of the advice journey to work from consistent client data.
Adviser Workspace
The adviser workspace provides visibility into today’s tasks, clients and plans in flight, along with planning, advice and documentation activity and items requiring review.
Financial Planning
The planning experience supports financial plans, goals, cashflow and scenarios. Advisers can work with a client’s financial position and explore potential outcomes as part of the wider advice process.
Risk & Assessment
Businesses can configure risk profiles, assessment questions, scoring, risk bands and suitability mapping, with published and preview versions.
Investment Management
The investment area supports a catalogue-oriented workflow covering funds, research, products and providers, allowing investment information to connect with planning and advice activities.
Advice & Documentation
The platform supports suitability reports, document templates, documents and Letters of Authority, together with versioning, reviews, approvals, issues and audit trails.
Business Management
The business management layer supports adviser management, user management, permissions, application configuration, market assumptions, billing and activity monitoring.
One Ecosystem, Multiple Experiences
The platform connects three experiences through one underlying data model.
Client App
Portfolio and goals, documents and messages, and secure onboarding.
Adviser Platform
Workspace and tasks, planning and scenarios, and advice and documentation.
Business Manager
Advisers and users, configuration and templates, activity and billing.
Integrating the Financial Ecosystem
The platform is designed to work alongside existing systems and services across CRM, platforms, providers, payments, documents, data, compliance and APIs.
Intelligence Layer
The intelligence model is:
Client Data → Zugo Intelligence → Insight → Action
It supports areas such as client segmentation, plan optimisation, personalised servicing and risk analysis.
Security & Governance
The platform incorporates encryption in transit and at rest, data protection principles, regulatory fit, auditability, access control and role-based permissions.
Technology
React, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Ant Design, React Query, Redux, Recharts, Bun, Express, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Redis and BullMQ.
Result
The result is a connected wealth management operations platform that brings client data, adviser workflows, business administration, planning, risk, investment management and documentation into one environment.
